1800s Spanish Refectory Table In European Chestnut
1800s Spanish Refectory Table In European Chestnut
Hand crafted in Spain during the 19th century, this refectory table is formed from solid European chestnut, a timber long favoured across rural Spain for its durability, workability and pronounced grain. The top presents wide boards with strong latewood banding and depth of tone, sitting above shaped trestle ends joined by a forged iron stretcher that reinforces both structure and lineage. The scrolled feet and hand worked detailing speak to provincial craftsmanship rather than factory production. At 210 centimetres in length, it carries the scale and authority expected of a true refectory piece, built to serve generations and still entirely at ease in a contemporary interior.
