An Italian console from the 1980s built around a single curved frosted glass pedestal supporting a long clear glass top, using mass and transparency in equal measure. The softened white finish through the base gives it the quiet architectural presence often seen in late postmodern interiors, where form was reduced to volume and proportion rather than ornament. The cantilevered top creates a deliberate visual imbalance that feels resolved rather than fragile, with the curved base acting more like an interior plane than a conventional support. This belongs in spaces where joinery, stone and light are already doing the work, and furniture is expected to sit within that language rather than compete with it. Used in an entry, behind a sofa or against a restrained gallery wall, it reads less as a console and more as part of the room’s structure.
