Formed in polished aluminium with a broad circular shade, stepped upper housing and conical glass diffuser, this vintage pendant carries the functional construction language of industrial and commercial lighting. Brass wing screws secure the glass and introduce a small but distinctive material contrast against the silvered body. The unusual combination of its wide horizontal shade, elongated upper form and exposed hardware gives it far more character than a conventional industrial pendant, sitting somewhere between workshop utility and early modernist machine age design. Lit or unlit, the glass, aluminium and brass create a strong architectural presence with enough age and mechanical detail to keep it from feeling overly polished.
