Early twentieth century Italian cavalry sabre with a long curved steel blade, alloy guard and timber grip, consistent with Italian military patterns of the period. The blade has been blunted and finished in a polished chrome surface, shifting it from functional use into a display object, while the guard and grip retain visible age, wear and loss that speak to its original life. The overall structure remains straight and intact, with surface variation and marks consistent with age beneath the later finish. This is the kind of piece specified into interiors where historical objects are curated as part of a broader material narrative rather than treated as equipment. Mounted or placed within a study, library or office setting, it reads as a linear artifact with presence rather than function.
