Crafted in the mid twentieth century, this tall ewer was produced in India using nickel silver alloy with decorative bone inlay and coloured cabochons. The metal has the soft sheen associated with traditional white metal work, detailed with raised motifs that echo older Indo Persian design. Its height gives it a sculptural presence while the inlaid patterns turn it into an ornamental object that once signalled status during formal gatherings. It carries the atmosphere of ceremonial craft and the expressive embellishment that defined decorative Indian metalware of the period.
