Commissioned in the 1980s for a luxury holiday residence at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, this three piece table suite was conceived as a unified interior composition for a space where material quality was the brief. Each piece is constructed from hand laid tessellated stone panels in a warm cream travertine tone, with fine bronze inlay lines running continuously through corners, edges and legs with a precision that speaks to considered specification rather than off the shelf procurement. The rounded leg profiles and waterfall edges give the forms a softness that sits in quiet contrast to the controlled linearity of the bronze detailing, and smoked glass inserts sit within each top without interrupting the stone surround. The suite reads as a set with equal authority or as singular pieces placed independently, each carrying the same material language and presence.
