This vintage Spanish Colonial Revival dining suite combines the architectural weight of traditional hacienda furniture with the decorative character of Spanish Revival design. A substantial timber dining table is accompanied by matching high backed chairs, creating a cohesive setting defined by strong geometry, dark timber and richly patterned upholstery.
The table features a thick rectangular top supported by twin crossed trestles, an ornamentally shaped stretcher and exposed pegged joinery. The chairs echo its substantial construction through extended timber backs and red tapestry style upholstery finished with decorative studs.
The combination of emphatic timber forms, ornamental detailing and richly coloured upholstery gives the suite a distinctly Spanish Colonial Revival character. Its appeal lies in the complete setting, with the repeated chair backs reinforcing the architectural presence of the table.
The upholstery displays wear consistent with age. One chair has a small tear that has been professionally mended, with the repair discreetly integrated into the patterned textile.
