Designed by Giandomenico Belotti for Alias in the 1970s, these chairs reinterpret the original Spaghetti Chair structure through a leather sling seat and back, retaining the same continuous steel rod frame and stacking geometry. The black coated steel base forms a precise linear loop, while the leather panels introduce a more architectural, resolved surface compared to the corded versions more commonly seen. This variation is far less documented, but aligns with Alias production methods of the period where material iterations sat within the same structural language. These tend to sit with projects where material discipline and proportion are already controlled, rather than mixed or transitional interiors. In use, they read as a consistent system when grouped, with the stacked profile reinforcing their original intent for flexible dining or workspace environments.
