Heavy gauge steel storage trunk manufactured by B.S. Holt, a supplier associated with mid twentieth century industrial and military equipment storage. Constructed from folded steel panels with reinforced edges, twin clasp closures and side carry handles, the piece was designed for durable transport and long term storage in workshop or field environments. The exterior has developed a richly weathered patina through decades of use, with original stencil lettering still visible across multiple faces.
The worn steel surface and utilitarian hardware have been gently cleaned using water only and sealed with a clear satin lacquer to stabilise and preserve the existing rust patina, allowing the original industrial character of the trunk to remain intact while protecting the surface for interior use where a strong industrial presence is sought. It works equally well as storage, a coffee table, or a striking piece in loft or workshop inspired interiors.
