Commissioned in Thailand circa 1980, this pair of rattan bedside tables combines wrapped cane frames with woven side panels, double cabinet doors, brass handles and open upper shelves. Their unusually tall 73cm profile is resolved by a continuous rounded frame that rises over each cabinet like an arch, giving the pair more presence than conventional bedside storage. They should remain together. Repeated on either side of a bed, the curved outlines and dense weave create deliberate symmetry, while the warm tonal variation of the rattan keeps the structure relaxed rather than rigid.
