1970s Chrome and Glass Tubular Steel Console Table

$3,390.00

A circa 1970s console table in chrome plated tubular steel and clear glass, defined by the substantial gauge of its frame. Thick circular tubing forms a rectangular perimeter above four straight legs, with an inset glass top keeping the construction open and the chrome visible from every angle. The broad, reflective tubes give its otherwise spare geometry an emphatic presence.

Its long, shallow proportions lend themselves to an entrance, hallway or position behind a sofa. Light moves across the rounded steel surfaces, while the transparent top allows objects placed above to sit visually within the frame. A strong expression of the period’s use of polished metal and glass.

Measures: 134cm W x 36cm D x 72cm H

The chrome retains a bright, reflective finish, with surface wear and marks consistent with its age and use.
