The fluted tapering legs, carved beaded mouldings and balanced architectural form are complemented by later upholstery in a contemporary geometric woven fabric that sits comfortably against the warmth of the gilt finish. Pieces of this scale bridge formal and relaxed interiors with ease. The combination of generous proportions and refined detailing makes it increasingly difficult to find examples that remain this visually complete.
