An expressive Italian Baroque Revival side table from circa 1950s, where richly carved timber and time softened gilding give classical ornament a strong architectural presence. Acanthus scrolls, reeded pilaster panels and diamond lattice detailing resolve into a shaped pedestal base with bracket feet. The contrasting gilt and silver leaf catches light across the carving, revealing the warm timber beneath in places.

The glass top brings a clean, quiet plane to the elaborate base, allowing its form, detail and patina to be appreciated without visual clutter. Equally at home beside a contemporary lounge or within a layered vintage interior, the table brings a distinctive interplay of ornament, material and proportion.
