Spanish Dining Chairs Oxblood Leather

$395.00

Produced in Spain during the twentieth century, these dining chairs follow the heavy timber construction associated with Spanish monastic and refectory furniture. Solid timber frames carry carved legs, stretcher supports and thick seat rails, while the seats and backs are upholstered in oxblood leather secured with traditional studwork. The grain pattern and visible knots suggest a timber such as chestnut, a material often used in Iberian furniture where durability and expressive grain were valued over refined finishing.

The direct carving and robust joinery echo earlier Spanish refectory forms, where furniture was built to read as enduring architectural pieces within the room. The result is seating that carries weight, texture and deep colour through timber and leather rather than ornament. They sit naturally alongside long refectory tables, library settings or interiors where aged timber and traditional European craftsmanship define the atmosphere. A 19th century Spanish refectory table is also available and pairs naturally with the chairs.
