A seated terracotta figure with balanced proportions, an expressive headdress and richly worked surface details. Its compact scale belies the visual authority of the pose, making it a strong standalone object for a shelf, pedestal or console.

Created in the twentieth century in the style of the Nayarit sculptural tradition of Western Mexico, the work draws on historic figurative forms without a claim of ancient origin.
