Two Late Twentieth Century Italian Leather Lounge Chairs
Two Late Twentieth Century Italian Leather Lounge Chairs
Produced in Italy during the late twentieth century, these generously proportioned leather lounge chairs embody the relaxed design language associated with makers such as Natuzzi and Nicoletti Salotti. Deep seat cushioning, gathered backrests, broad pillow arms and low black tubular metal bases establish their substantial layered construction. The survival of two matching examples at 110cm wide preserves the option of securing one substantial chair or retaining both as a balanced facing arrangement. Dark charcoal leather and low slung profiles give the chairs a relaxed late modernist atmosphere with the softness and visual weight characteristic of Italian lounge furniture from the period.
